- Gastropub headed by well-known Detroit chef to open in Allen Park, The News-Herald, January 31, 2016
Called Griff’s Pub, the business is owned by Christopher Griffin with Executive Chef Steven Kempner at the helm. Kempner is known for his pop-up dining around Detroit including Takeover Tuesdays at St. Cece’s, DIBS at the Detroit Institute of Bagels and Sundaylicious at Motor City Wine. Griff’s Pub will feature a permanent menu, according to Kempner, as well as specials on weekends and a small seasonal menu.
The interior of Griff’s Pub will be a cozy, 44-seat space that the team’s interior designer Kerry Gluckman of Gold Star Products called “rustic industrial.” The walls will feature barn wood hand picked from the Manchester area. And no gastropub is complete without a full bar. Griff’s will feature a 12-tap beer list that’s heavy on Michigan crafts, a small craft cocktail menu and a wine list that will be paired to the food.
