This is not your typical early-20th century vehicular water crossing.Appropriately named-carries Island Drive onto Horse Island from Main Island over the Horse Island Bayou. It's most famous feature is a steep rise following the shape of the arch itself, thus, this bridge resembles more like an old European footbridge. This is the only such bridge in Michigan. It is perhaps the most recognizable feature of an otherwise low-trafficked dead-end residential street.
