It is located on an island in the middle of the Huron River. Huroc Park contains many amenities, including paved walking and biking paths, a basketball court, a playground, and fishing spots on the east side of the island. The Flat Rock Animal Shelter is located near the northern tip of the park.

Parking is primarily located along Arsenal Road, and the only way to access the island by car is a narrow road that parallels the railroad on the north end of Huroc Park.

It is the location of the Flat Rock RiverFest, an annual local festival that typically happens in September, as well as a similar event called the Flat Rock Summer Blast that occurs in June.

A bike trail at the south end of the park provides access to Oakwoods Metropark.
