National City Bank was acquired by PNC Bank on November 6, 2009. Downriver branches were gradually converted to the PNC nameplate between 2008 and 2010.

Seventeen Downriver bank branches will be changing their names this weekend. National City bank branches across Michigan and Ohio will be rebranded with the PNC Bank signs and logo. The changeover will start today and is scheduled to be completed when the company’s branches reopen Monday.
