West Road is is a major east-west road through southern Downriver, extending from the Detroit River in Trenton to Huron River Drive in Huron Township. The road, however, becomes less significant west of Telegraph Road. It is most especially busy through Woodhaven.

East of Fort Street in Trenton, West Road was originally called Pine until the 1940s. However, Pine was the most commonly used name for this road, including the portion west of Fort Street, until the 1940s. As with Biddle and West Jefferson (which was called Washington Avenue before the 1930s), the address numbers prior to the 1930s do not match up with the address numbers today. And while both Biddle and West Jefferson have buildings which existed during both numbering eras (such as the Arlington Hotel and Trenton Hotel respectively), West Road was in its infancy during the Pine era.
