A number of bars, restaurants and churches provide free Thanksgiving meals. Most of these cater to low-income residents.

• Southfield Road Baptist Church, Allen Park: Free brunch from 10 a.m. to noon Thanksgiving Day. All are welcome to stay and watch football, play games or socialize until a free dinner is served at 2 p.m.
• Romulus House Restaurant, Romulus: Free dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. A donation to the local Goodfellows chapter is optional.
• St. Constance Catholic Church, Taylor: Free dinner from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the parish hall Thanksgiving Day.
• Big League Brews, Taylor: Free dinner from 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day until the food runs out.
