Andros "Andy" Karperos (1925-2007) was the superintendent of Yuba City Unified School District when he retired in 1989 after almost 30 years with the district. Andros Karperos Middle School is named for him.

Karperos was born in Los Angeles in 1925. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He then earned a master's degree in geography from the University of California, Los Angeles and moved to Sacramento to work as a cartographic photogrammetrist for the United States Geological Survey. He later became a middle school teacher in Dixon. In 1960, he moved to the Yuba-Sutter area to continue that career.

Karperos was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Marysville. He and his wife Ann Karperos had two daughters (Nina Mispagel of San Diego and Nan Jacuzzi of Yuba City) and one son (Kurt Karperos of Sacramento).
