Bob Bavasi co-founded the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox baseball team, along with the late Don McCullough of Don McCullough Dodge Chrysler (now John L. Sullivan Dodge Chrysler), in 2002. He and his brother Peter both handled the team as managing partners until they sold it to Tom and Karyn Lininger in 2007.1 Bob remains a major investor in the team, and his brother serves as an advisor to the Liningers.
Bob and Peter Bavasi are partners in Bavasi Sports Partners, LLP. In 2005, Bob founded the Horizon Air Summer Series, a collegiate wood bat league in which the Gold Sox have participated ever since.
