The Marysville Stampede has been held annually since 1933. It has long been produced by Cotton Rosser and the Flying U Rodeo Company, usually on Memorial Day weekend, at Beckwourth Riverfront Park Complex. It features some of the nation's top rodeo cowboys. Events include Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Calf Roping, WPRA Women's Barrel Racing, and Kids' Mutton Bustin' (in which kids ages 4 to 7 try to ride a sheep). Cotton Rosser also owns Cotton's Cowboy Corral in Marysville.
The weekend typically begins with a "Sodbuster Round-Up" dinner and dance at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, sponsored by the Marysville Rotary Club. A cattle drive and parade on D Street, Marysville begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sunday is "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" Day, in which a portion of the proceeds from rodeo ticket sales, plus all the proceeds from raffle ticket sales, will be donated to the Fremont-Rideout Cancer Center in Marysville. Each person wearing pink will receive a free raffle ticket.
You can purchase presale tickets at one of the rodeo ticket outlets, which are Cotton's Cowboy Corral and the Silver Dollar Saloon, City Grill and Bill's Place in Wheatland, and Round Table Pizza in Yuba City.
