It begins in Placer County and passes through Pleasant Grove and flows into Cross Canal southeast of Catlett. Its tributaries include Curry Creek and Howsley Creek.

Pleasant Grove Creek Canal also has a south branch, which is about 6.5 miles long and flows into Pleasant Grove Creek Canal in northwestern Roseville. It is sometimes called Pleasant Grove Creek Bypass.
