Summit Street balances on the peak of the hill that is Ypsilanti. It runs north from Michigan Avenue, dead-ending at Cross Street at the foot of the Ypsilanti Water Tower. With the exception of Mike's Book Store it is completely residential.
Summit forms the eastern boundary of the Normal Park Neighborhood Association.
