Red Lobster is a United States chain food restaurant. They also serve food in Canada, Japan, and in some Arabian countries. It is aimed at the mid-level "casual dining" and the menu includes a variety of specialty seafood and non-seafood entrees, appetizers, salads, and desserts.

History of Red Lobster

Red Lobster was founded in 1968 by entrepreneurs Bill Darden and Charley Woodsby. Red Lobster was originally for "Seafood lovers", and the first restaurant was built in Lakeland, Florida. In 1970, General Mills bought Red Lobster and greatly expanded in the 1980’s. By 1995, Red Lobster (along with Olive Garden and other sister chains) became part of Darden Restaurants.


Menu

The menu lists items including appetizers, entrees, side-dishes, and sauces with the calorie count, total fat and saturated fat, sodium and carbs. Red Lobster is aiming for delicious food, yet healthy at the same time. Their Cheddar Bay Biscuits, which Red Lobster is known for, are delicious and also endless. The biscuits weren’t introduced until the early 1990’s.
