Chingus is a funk/jam band that has been a part of the music scene in Chico for several years. They released their first full-length album in 2004, and have since played venues all around Northern California. The band consists of the following members:

• Mark Gonzalez - Guitar and vocals
• Marcus Schmidt - Bass and vocals
• Glenn Keithly - Piano/organ and vocals
• Zach Bowden - Drums and vocals
• Nate Harnack - Baritone/Soprano saxophone and vocals
• Adam Walter - Alto/Tenor saxophone

The band won the CN&R CAMMIES award in both 2006 and 2007 in the Funk/R&B/Jam category. They were nominated in the same category in 2008.
