The Jesus Center
The Jesus Center, "offering hospitality in the name of Jesus", has been helping to feed hungry people since 1980. The center offers breakfast and dinner Monday through Saturday. In addition, showers and grooming are available for men and women. Last year the center began handing out meal cards to businesses and citizens of Chico in the hope that those in need will be reminded of the center's accommodations. Food Not Bombs
Chico Food Not Bombs(website) invites you to a free lunch at Depot Park, (Cedar St. between 3rd and 5th; across the tracks from the train station), every Sunday from Noon to 2 PM. Their meals are vegan.
Salvation Army
Salvation Army at Sixteenth and Laurel Streets has a food closet and makes grocery packages available to those in need on a case by case basis.
