The Learning Resource Center The "Learning Resource Center","39.649732","-121.642985" opened spring of 2006 and brought Butte's main campus a number of smart classrooms, the Center for Academic Success (CAS) and cozy offices for instructors.

Students can initially be confused about where their classes with the LRC prefix are held. The first floor is where most classes are held, and it is not the floor that is easily entered by crossing over the bridge. Instead, students will want to go down a flight of stairs, elevator, or the accessible ramp. The second floor is where the CAS is located, along with many instructor offices. The third floor consists of the Language and Humanities Department and the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department office as well as more instructor offices.

Each smart classroom contains a lectern with a Windows-based computer that provides easy instructor and student utilization of the classroom projector for slides, videos, and demonstrations. The computer can even control classroom lights. One classroom (LRC 137) is rather unique since it has three small adjoining rooms. These can be used for groupwork while in class or practicing speeches.

Offices for instructors either look over the CAS, or have a third-story window view facing the south. Instructors will post office hours in their syllabus for student visitation.
