The Sacramento then drains into the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta where water makes its way to either the bay or through one of two water projects. The Delta-Mendota Canal replenishes the water parched San Joaquin river (due to upstream water projects) and the California Aqueduct to water Southern California. In general terms it extends from Redding to Sacramento, CA.
