Badgers are members of the weasel family, along with mink, river otters, and weasels. The American badger (Taxidea taxusis the only badger found in the United States. It is native in Yolo County. Per the California Department of Fish and Game range maps, it lives in all parts of the county, including in Davis. It's generally nocturnal, and therefore not often seen, but it does occasionally venture out in the daytime. Have you seen one?
