Chelso A. Maghetti (1892-1973) first arrived in Davis in 1919 and served as the town's postmaster from 1927 to 1936. In 1935, he purchased the Davis Enterprise from William H. Scott. Maghetti worked as the newspaper's editor until 1960. He ran the business in much the same style as his predecessor, and his opinions leaned to the right on most political issues. He was named Davis Citizen of the Year in 1947.
