The elm leaf beetle, Xanthogaleruca luteola, is a particularly noxious pest found in Davis gardens. While they are considered a major threat to elm trees and other urban trees, folks may may be most familiar with their voracious appetite for the leaves of garden plants.
Any suggestions on how to thwart the attack of these hungry beetles?

—To my knowledge, the only host plants they feed on are some elm species, and (less commonly) Zelkova trees. So avoiding the planting of the host plants has become the preferred method of control. DonShor
