Emery King was White House Correspondent for NBC News and an anchor for WDIV. He currently is the communications director for the Detroit Medical Center.
In June 2011, the DMC was in negotiations with the Mayor Bing's office to loan King to the City to support communications efforts. The communications director for Bing, Karen Dumas, was facing a large amount of public controversy.
On June 27, 2011, the City announced that King would be working as a communications advisor "executive on loan." He is to start July 5.
