PAUL STEVENS USES PLANE IN NEW ROLE

Paul Stevens, president of the Stevens Hotel Company, Lake Placid, did a camper on Long Pond a good turn a few days ago when he used his airplane to deliver a rush order of groceries.

Allen L. [sic] Vosburgh, who conducts a general store at Lake Clear Junction, according to the Syracuse Post-Standard, received a rush order for groceries a few days ago from a camper on Long Pond, 10 miles away by airplane but 20 miles away by road.

Mr. Stevens happened to land with his plane on the waters of Lake Clear at about the same time and kindly consented, after learning of the camper's difficulty, to take the groceries, milk, and vegetables into the cockpit of his plane. In a few minutes he was aloft again. Ten minutes later the Long Pond campers had his rush order of eatables, thanks to Mr. Stevens skill and good nature.
