SARANAC LAKE - Arthur R. Yando, 86, of 3-5 Riverside Drive, died Saturday, May 25, at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake. He had lived in the village periodically since 1926.

He was born in Holyoke, Mass., on Sept. 27, 1898, the son of Raphael and Agnes (LaPlante) Yando.

He was foreman in charge of construction at Plattsburgh Air Force Base for many years.

His wife, Edna Yando whom he wed in Saranac Lake in 1942, died in 1968.

Mr. Yando was a World War II United States Army veteran.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Keough and Son Funeral Home. The funeral service is set for Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Father Frank Coryer of St. Bernard's Church officiating.

Cremation will follow. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
