Franklin G. Buck, Sr. served as Saranac Lake Village Manager from August 1949 to June 1957. Two of his sons were World War II veterans.

FRANK BUCK IS DEAD AT 65
Frank Buck, Saranac Lake Village Manager from August 1949 to June 1957, died last evening at Saranac Lake General Hospital after a long illness. He was 65 years of age.
Mr. Buck was born June 20, 1898 in New York City, son of George H. and Margaret Sternotti Buck, and had made his home in Saranac Lake since 1938. He and Mrs. Buck, the former Margaret Demerse, lived at 38 Church Street. Before becoming village manager, Mr. Buck worked in the village water department and he returned to the water department as superintendent after he resigned as manager.
Survivors besides Mrs. Demerse are three sons, Frank, Jr. of Saranac Lake, Russel and Thomas of California; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Trummer of Saranac Lake and Mrs. Dorothy Swain of Oxford, Pa.; 26 grandchildren; five brothers, John of Connecticut, Lester, William, Jerome and Stanley of New York City; a sister, Mrs. Violet Salziola of Pennsylvania, and nieces and nephews.
Friends may can, beginning this evening, at the Fortune Funeral Home. An Elks service will be held at the funeral home at 8 p. m. Thursday and the Rosary will be said at 8:15. A funeral service will be held at 10 a. m. Friday at St. Bernard's Church and a Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a. m. Monday at St. Bernard's. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in May.
