Harry Van Nortwick, called Archie, was a World War II veteran, having served as a private in the Army. He is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery

. . . Archie served in the Army, achieving the rank of corporal. . . . "The only thing I know about Archie is that he was wounded," [his niece, Jerrie] Walsh said. "He had a year of college, which put you above the rank and file. He moved away from Saranac Lake."
