SARANAC LAKE - Ludwig A. Keller, 74, died at his home on Ampersand Avenue Wednesday morning, June 3.

He was born in New York City Aug. 14, 1906, the son of Anton and Caroline Keller.

He grew up in Saranac Lake and graduated from the local school.

He was a self-employed musician and is remembered for his music played at dismissal time every day during his school years.

He was also the pianist at a local theatre nicknamed "The Itch" and had played at the opening of the Hotel Saranac. The recent silent movie presentations at the Center for Music, Drama and Art and Lake Placid Club Resort, both in Lake Placid, were accompanied by his piano playing. He also participated musically in the 1980 Red Cross Rally and played at the Saranac Lake Adult Center.

Mr. Keller was a member of the Saranac Lake Senior Citizens and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, the former Elizabeth Borzilleri of Saranac Lake; a brother, Henry G. of Maryland and one nephew.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m., today at the Keough and Son Funeral Home.

The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 10 at the funeral home with the Rev. John McClester, pastor of the Saranac Lake Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Saranac Lake Adult Center.
