The Resident Physician's House was built at the Adirondack Cottage Sanitarium to accomodate a series of young doctors who managed the day-to-day operations and the needs of patients. Until about 1905 when Dr. Lawrason Brown took over full responsibility, Dr. E. L. Trudeau oversaw the institution himself.
