My father (surname not given) in the years between 1910 and the mid-20s lived in Saranac Lake and raised his family there. He ran a hotel called "The Holland House"  and several other businesses there, a theater and a restaurant. Also he built a 14 room house next to a church (can't remember the name of the church) and a colony of bungalows. He named streets after his 2 daughters, Catherine and Leona. I believe the development was known as "Sanschagrin Heights." I saw the blueprints of the development, and picture postcards of the businesses years ago. I wonder what ever happened to them?
