Established in 1976, Mississauga Board of Trade serves as a chamber of commerce. There are over 53,000 businesses employing over 440,000 people, including 59 of Canada’s Fortune 500 offices in Mississauga

Mississauga Board of Trade represents many major employers and smaller businesses in a variety of industry sectors. As a not-for-profit, private sector business organization, Their mandate is to act as the voice of business on all issues of concern to Mississauga business community and to create a network for success for their members. Volunteers help to fulfill their rtmandate through a variety of activities such as:

  • Sustained dialogue with all levels of government to influence programs and policy for the benefit of their members and community;
  • Monthly committee meetings to communicate business issues and develop policy statements;
  • Business networking and social opportunities for their membership;
  • Professional development seminars

MBOT has a number of committees and task forces made up of dedicated MBOT members, who develop, implement and address issues of concern for Mississauga’s business community, as well as identify events and projects that would enhance business.

Membership in MBOT provides an opportunity to be part of a strong and unified voice in advocacy. MBOT takes a leading role in influencing change and growth in local, provincial, national and global markets.

Mississauga Board of Trade plays a leadership role in community affairs on behalf of business, to ensure a progressive, safe and healthy community for both businesses and individuals in City of Mississauga.

Mission Statement

The mission of Mississauga Board of Trade is to fulfill a leadership role as the voice of business for Mississauga’s business community. MBOT aims to create an environment for Mississauga business to compete and prosper, in recognition of the simple truth that a thriving business sector contributes to the quality of life for all citizens in our community.

Mississauga Board of Trade represents approximately 1,500 businesses in Mississauga. MBOT is well positioned to address the needs of business by using its considerable influence at all levels of government, allowing for the opportunity to be part of a strong and unified voice in advocating and taking the lead in effecting change and growth in local, provincial, national and global markets.

MBOT has a number of policy-driven committees and task forces, which consist of dedicated and dynamic MBOT members from small, medium and large enterprises, who develop, implement and address issues of concern for Mississauga’s business community. Areas of focus include health & safety, human resources and transportation & supply chain logistics. These committees also develop and promote MBOT events and projects.
