The Oakland Privacy Working Group is a grassroots community organization that works on privacy and anti-surveillance efforts here in Oakland. The group grew out of an Occupy Oakland privacy working group, but is now basically its own thing. It ramped up activities after the Domain Awareness Center (DAC) first came to public attention in summer 2013 and is now working primarily on stopping the center from being implemented.

The group has received a number of documents relating to the DAC contract through a public records request and works on mobilizing community support against the DAC.

Here is a FAQ about the DAC: http://oaklandwiki.org/dac-faq-v1#
