Give-a-byte is a high-tech-related community-benefit organization based in Santa Cruz, CA. We leverage "throw-away" computer technology to improve the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS in Santa Cruz and Monterey CA counties. Though our focus is on people with HIV, Give-a-byte also serves other disabled and disadvantaged clients whenever possible. We consider "throw-away" computer technology – commonly referred to as “electronic waste” or “e-waste” - as a valuable community resource for improving the lives of people whose health or economic status precludes them from owning a computer and using the Internet.
