The local IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) organization is located in Baskin Engineering room 228. Their website is located at http://ieee.soe.ucsc.edu.
It is mostly funded by sales of CyberSlug apparel and the annual Dunk Tank event.
The IEEE Room
The IEEE room is a place for IEEE members to relax in between classes. It contains several workstations, a printer, various forms of entertainment including an XBox and a darts board, a couch, and various snacks from Costco which are sold at-cost on the honor system. After the introduction of the couch into the IEEE room, it became a place for regulars to catch a nap or even stay the night.
Access to the IEEE room can be achieved by obtaining a keycode if one is an IEEE member. See the web site for details.
