Description The Beagles were a rock band started in Santa Cruz in 1983 and went through several incarnations until its demise in 1988. The basic premise was a club act playing 60's music, and the format was used stringently for the first three years, with 60's clothes and instruments, but the band steadily grew out of the confines, started writing original material, and stopped wearing the clothes; they became something very different by the time they called it quits. The Beagles were one of the busiest of all the working Santa Cruz club bands in the 80's. The Beagles reunited in 2009 for a few shows, with Eric Gunn playing drums.
