Martha Matilda Scott Clark Griffith (1867-19??) was a nurse who assisted at many childbirths in the Yuba County foothills. She also served on the Indiana Ranch School Board (serving the Dobbins area) and owned a 240-acre livestock farm near Dobbins. She was born near Oregon House, the youngest child of pioneer settlers John and Katherine Scott, and attended Oregon House School as one of 40 students there. In 1887, she married Thesus "Ford" Clark, whose parents were also pioneer settlers. Thesus Clark transported supplies from Marysville to the gold mines in Downieville and the surrounding area. Martha bore him seven children before he died in Live Oak in 1905. In 1923, Martha married carpenter Wesley W. Griffith of Sacramento. They lived in Dobbins, where Wesley worked for Pacific Gas & Electric Company.
