Captain John Finnis - Narrative and Letters compiled by HJ Finnis |
The following unpublished typewritten document was written by Harold Jack Finnis (1889-1980), the eldest grandchild of Captain John Finnis (1802-1873), to enable the other Finnis grandchildren to know something of their Grandfather. It consists of a number of John Finnis' letters plus a narrative to give cohesion to the story they unfold, and includes information not available from HJ Finnis' many publications. As the document contains material related to the early Colony of South Australia and the establishment of Mount Barker and region, it could also be useful to those interested in the early history of South Australia |
