Exciting things are Happening at the Hahndorf Resort

The local family of Brian and Lyn Schirripa together with their children, Karlyn, Luke and Trent, have taken over the resort and have already started renovating and upgrading the property. The caravan park is now redesigned and beautifully landscaped with underground power lines. The amenities blocks have been renovated and upgraded together with the swimming pool and gardens and the roads have all been resurfaced. The park is now very inviting and there are plans to convert an existing building into a communal kitchen and entertainment area. It is a vast improvement on the previous facilities.
All nine motel rooms are being renovated and upgraded together with the chalets which are dotted around the park. Some chalets overlooking the lake will have balconies added as well as new landscaped gardens.
There are major renovations underway for the conference centre with a ground level deck and balcony added to take advantage of the wonderful views over the Mount Lofty hills. The newly refurbished restaurant sits atop the 32 acres offering 270 degree sweeping views of the stunning Adelaide Hills. The mood of the venue will be a balanced mix of warmth and charm blended with modern contemporary fixtures. Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the newly appointed Executive Chef from Central London boasts a repertoire which will cater for locals, travelers, corporate, wedding parties and groups looking for that amazing venue.
The Schirripa FamilyThe Schirripa family will be running the accommodation side of the business and leasing the food and conference section. The plans for the future of the resort are to restore the 32 acres to a lovely park-like atmosphere with a mix of native and exotic trees to take advantage of Hahndorf’s lovely climate. To date, a great deal of landscaping has been completed, but with much more to be done there are busy times ahead for this local family who have taken on
the challenge of the resort and are showing great enthusiasm and passion in restoring it. It is wonderful to see the resort back in the hands of such a hard working and dedicated local family.
The town of Hahndorf which is South Australia’s premier tourist town will again be able to claim a first-class caravan park, tourist park and function centre. As town residents we will have another great dining option and a place to recommend to visitors to stay. For our local traders, with more people staying at the resort this can only mean increased business for them as well. Great news for everyone and well done to the Schirripa family for their courage and foresight to take on such a challenge.
