Jazzanooga, Chattanooga's Festival of Jazz, takes place in Chattanooga across various venues during the month of April. April is Jazz Appreciation Month. Jazzanooga was started in 2011 as a one-day event by a small group of jazz fans and has grown to a month-long celebration. The focus of Jazzanooga is featuring Chattanooga's local jazz history and local musicians; and, it ends the last weekend of the month with internationally renowned headliners and a full day celebration on Chattanooga's historic MLK Blvd. -- formerly known as the "Big 9." In 2013 Jazzanooga added a music education program, which educates youth in schools and in weekend sessions about playing jazz. Jazzanooga students perform at various venues throughout the year.

The festival is supported by the Benwood Foundation and the Lyndhurst Foundation, with the Jazzanooga Fund held at the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga. 2015 Sponsors include the McKenzie Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN Community Trust, EPB, Suntrust and the City of Chattanooga. Festival revenues support the Jazzanooga Youth Music Academy, music instruction scholarships and the future of the festival. Double Cola has provided a generous in-kind donation to the 2014 Festival.

2015 Headline acts include Take 6, Gretchen Parlato, Eric Roberson, Alan Hampton and Rahsaan barber and Everyday Magic. 2014 Headline acts included Gregory Porter, Lalah Hathaway, Ruben Studdard and Avery*Sunshine. Full Festival Schedule 2014.
