Avanti's is a family owned restaurant. Owned the Zeller family. Guido Zeller is the first person who owned Avanti's, then he past it down to his two sons Marcus Zeller and Rich Zeller. There are two Avant's in Bloomington and Normal. The Avanti's in Bloomington is new, it was built about 5ish years ago. There is also one Avanti's in Peoria owned by Guido's brother. Avanti's has been around for over 40 years.  Avanti's serves pasta, pizza, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and appetizers. All of which are very good. They have specials every day of the week. The  most popular special is on Tuesdays, all you can eat pasta.  You can buy a large pasta for the price of a small.  Avanti's is very kid friendly and tries to promote a family oriented restaurant. Their most famous item on the menu is their Gondola, because of their bread, which is made from scratch. They also have many more items to choose from that are great. They have great service and wonderful food!

2010-09-27 15:03:30   I have a full time job during the day and go to classes during the evening. I also live out of town so when leaving class usually a couple time's a month i will stop by avanit's. Having avanti's on Empire (across from the airport) is really convienent for me to swing into then head home and prices are great for a family on a budget. When i stop in I usually get the family platter it is a 1/2 gallon or you choice pasta, 1 full gondola and a 2 liter pop. We usually eat the pasta for supper then have left over for the rest of the week. Also when stoping in at advanti's you usually do not have a wait at the carry out they will get it out to you within five mintues. The dine-in side is great to your food comes really quick and the wait staff is excellent to make sure your drinks a full and everything is good. It's great food for a great pirce! —MirandaThorndyke

2010-09-27 15:03:30   Being a college studens I believe that Avantis is one of the best places to go for italin food. It is not expensive at all espeically for all the struggling college students that do not have a lot of money they are able to dine in or carry out and enjoy good food at a cheap price. They are famous for their gondolas and their bread. The pizza bread is a big seller all year around. Most people once they dine in they usually order a couple loaves of bread to take home with them because the bread is that good. It is all good italin food for a good price that everybody can afford and enjoy it! —???

2011-02-16 13:08:58   Avantis is one of my favorite places to eat in Bloomington. The food is very good and the service as well. My personal favorites are the pizza bread and gondolas. Gondolas are still good the second or third days you have them if you take the lettuce off and microwave them for a few seconds. just saying. Like Mattgreen below me said, avantis is good and affordable. Im a college student and i dont have a job but i still have enough money to eat at avantis alot. whats even better is calling ahead and oring food, then going to pick it up later via the carry out room. avantis is good stuff —alexreichle
