The Black Box Theatre at Elon University is located in the Center for Performing Arts.

The Black Box Theatre is mainly used for small plays and musicals by the Musical Theatre, Dance, Acting, and Music programs at Elon.  The Black Box Theatre only sits 100 people, so it is quite intimate, as it is only used for rehearsals and small shows.  Even though the Black Box Theatre is small, it can be easily changed to fit the set of the show.  It is an easy theatre because the stage is on the same level as the seats.  The audience gets the opportunity to see the actors up close, which is not the case in the McCrary Theatre or Yeager Recital Hall.

Recently, the Black Box Theatre has been a home for The Children's Hour, and upcoming shows include Dancing in the Black Box, Senior Acting Major Thesis Production, First Year Acting Showcase, Senior Music Theatre Major Thesis Production, Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare,  and Alpha Psi Omega Student-Directed Full Length Play.
