General About the Organization/Mission
Mission: Green Opportunities helps youth and adults living in poverty get and keep jobs that support their families and improve community and environmental health.
Vision: We envision a community, made up of resilient, interconnected neighborhoods, whose residents have access to jobs that support their families and improve community and environmental health.
Green Opportunities seeks to develop a "green economy" that is inclusive and which focuses on key elements of social justice by placing an emphasis on Asheville's low income youth and adults. The organization uses training, job placement, and social enterprise activities to help program participants achieve self-sufficiency.
