Micron is a muiti-billion dollar high-technology company headquartered in Boise, Idaho.   Micron's symbol listed on the NASDAQ is "MU' and is a publicly traded company specializing in high-tech computer chip and semiconductor engineering, manufacturing, and worldwide distribution.  Micron's high technology portfolio includes a wide assortment of wafer chip technology, LED, sensor design, flash memory, solid state memory drives, and many other high technology hardware and software.   Micron was able to survive the Japanese 'chip dumping' in 1985.   Many other high-tech manufactures filed for bankruptcy or dissolved altogether.   Micron's survival allowed success andMicron headquarters located Boise, Idaho quickly became an industry leader within the semiconductor and computer chip manufacturing segment.   Tragically on 2.2.12 Micron's founder Steve Appleton was tragically killed in a plane accident.   Appleton was a graduate from Boise State University and made a generous contribution for the construction of the tennis center located at Boise State.
