The Morris Hill Neighborhood can roughly be defined as the community just west of the Morris Hill and Pioneer Cemetery, bounded on the south by Alpine road, the North by the I-184 freeway and west by Curtis road – not including the Central Rim neighborhood  located in the northeast corner. The community gets its name from Morris Hill road which is a major residential corridor. Orchard Street and W. Emerald Street serves as a major business corridors for this area.

Community

Morris Hill Neighborhood consists of a mixture between mid-century, smaller than average, single family homes, newer duplex and apartment complexes and some older farmhouses. Most of the subdivisions were developed from the 1940s to the 1970s. Many properties still have water rights for irrigation canals. Irrigation water is delivered via the Ridenbaugh Canal to the Rust Lateral, the North Slough and the Tuttle Lateral. Morris Hill could be described as a working class neighborhood

Residents enjoy an easy commute to downtown Boise or the Town Square Mall along Emerald street and Orchard street provides some chain store and unique and eclectic shopping options.

History

Like most Boise Bench neighborhoods, Morris Hill was mainly farmland until the influx of returning service men and women after WWII spurred suburban development.
