Things to see and do
The town's website tells you about the palace, castle, park and Butterfly gardens. It is closed December-March.
The Palace of Sayn hosts the regional Museum of cast iron and the restaurant “SaynerZeit”. The path “Rheinsteig” leads hikers to the Castle of Sayn on top of the hill, and the castle tavern.
Also within walking distance from the Castle and Palace, you will find the historic iron foundry“Sayner Hütte”, or the old mill “Heins Mühle” on the way to the romanesque Abbey.
