Overview

The Daniel Boone Inn, opened in 1959, is not only the oldest restaurant in Boone, North Carolina, but it is one of the most popular. The all-you-can-eat, family-style restaurant has won various awards for having exceptional food and a unique atmosphere. 

The menu features a fixed-price, homestyle meal that includes a salad or soup, three meats, five vegetables, biscuits, dessert, and beverages. On Saturdays and Sundays, the menu also includes a homestyle breakfast.

Awards

Awards for the restaurant include third place for best restaurant in North Carolina and first place for readers' choice for family dining and country cooking, both in Our State Magazine. The Daniel Boone Inn has also received third place for country cooking restaurants in Southern Living Magazine. 

History

Residing in one of the oldest buildings in Boone, North Carolina, the Daniel Boone Inn was once the town's first hospital and later a dormitory for the Appalachian State Teachers College. It then transitioned to a restaurant and has been serving customers for over 50 years.
