Buffalo NY is a gem in disguise. There are many underground basements, bars and restaurants that promote Live Entertainment. Jazz is known to be influenced by Buffalo and its people. In 1918 the first colored musician club was found. It has reached 80 years in 2015 and are still counting. This brought many Musicians of color to Buffalo NY, like Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington and many more. Before the colored musicians club, there was only one musicians club called "Local 43", and it was only for white musicians. Local 43 is no longer open but many spots have began to take part in the music scene around the city.
