Junebug Golf is a game played mainly in the summer months when Junebugs are plentiful. Whether or not it's actually a game could be debated since points are not awarded nor is any winner declared. Perhaps only the Junebugs are the losers in this game. The game is played in the evening by whacking Junebugs with golf clubs generally in the direction away from doors and windows or places people are gathering. Likely originating in the Rancho Calleguas Gardens neighborhood, this game is most often played at gatherings such as barbeques and block parties and was at its peak popularity between about 1990-2002.
