Corson Music is a local instrument store, managed and staffed by professional musicians. It has two locations: the larger, main location on University Avenue in Champaign and the Corson Music's Guitar Store on the corner of Main & Race in downtown Urbana. They pride themselves on having professional, knowledgeable staff, who can help you find what you need even if you don't have an exact idea of what you are looking for.
Corson Music's Guitar Store
The Guitar Store in Urbana specializes in both acoustic, electric and bass guitars. You'll also find an array of amplifiers, effects, and a full line of MI accessories. They carry guitars for all players, from the smallest, inexpensive beginner guitars to fantastic professional models by Fender, Washburn, Heritage, Gretsch, Peavey, Guild, Jackson, Larrivee and others. This location offers both beginner and advanced lessons (and everything in-between), and also offers in-house guitar repair (electronic repairs, however, are handled at the main location in Champaign). They also carry a complete selection of guitar instructional music and artist collections of popular music for guitar, as well as a selection of books, instructional book/CD sets, and a range of sheet music, including cultural music for mandolin and guitar.
