BLAST DC is Blind Life Skills and Training for people in the DC area.

We are a user-run organization that coordinates orientation and mobility, resource sharing, information and referral, life skills, communication skills and literacy for people who are  blind or visually impaired and seeking employment and adaptive technology training in the DC area. We plan to coordinate our services with technology and employment programs for people with disabilities at community organizations like the DC Public Library Adaptive Technology Training Program, DC Independent Living Center, DC Rehabilitation Services Administration, and Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind. We plan to act as a lesion for these community organizations, effectively bringing them together to provide distributed life skills training to the community.

For more information contact BLAST at 703-597-8770 and leave a message.

Also contact DC Public Library Center for Accessibility for JAWS training, keyboard basics, intermediate and advanced level, classroom style, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, once a week on either Wednesday or Thursday, starting Wednesday, Sept 15 for a 10 week curriculum.
