111 W. Oak street was built for Elizabeth and James Isaac Anderson in 1929 by F.C. Conner. Designated a historic landmark in 2015, the house is currently owned by Doryce and Tom Judd.

History of the house: The house is located on a large lot originally purchased in 1920 by Denton realtor C.C. Yancey who divided the lot into 6 sections with the intention to build 6 modern residences for rent on lots  fronting W. Oak and W. Hickory Streets. Elizabeth Batton purchased the lot on 111 W. Oak from Yancey in 1924 and in 1928 she and her second husband J.I. Anderson contracted with F.C. Conner to build the 8-room brick duplex. Of note, the builder F.C. Conner later became the mayor of Lewisville, TX from 1953-57. The Andersons lost their home during the Great Depression but continued to reside there until 1939 when it was purchased by Mrs. Ula Kidd.  Ownership of the home changed many times over the years including Mrs. Callie Ratcliff (1943), J.O. Stribling (1958-1969)
