Starr Studios was founded by artist, author and designer Sean Starr in San Francisco’s Mission District at the end of 2005. The studio quickly became a creative resource for customers all over the United States, working on projects for companies like The Gap, Ocean Spray, Sony Music and the San Francisco Mayor’s Office.  The studio is owned and operated by Sean and Kayleigh Starr, a husband and wife design team.

In 2012, the studio was relocated back to Starr’s home state of Texas and is now located in Denton. The studio is not open to the public.

Starr’s original art work has been exhibited in galleries all over the United States including a New York exhibit in 2006 as well as a 4 month long project painting at 11 wineries in Napa Valley, California.

He has written several published books including “The Artist’s Tao: 44 Principles for an Artist’s Life” as well as “You, Me and Morrissey” which was made an Official Entrant for the 2008 Pulitzer Prize in Letters.

The studio’s work has been featured on the Discovery Channel, NBC Television, The Food Network, the 2010 Winter Olympics, as well as industry publications such as Digital Output Magazine, This Old House, Sign Builder Illustrated and Starr is a regular contributor to SignCraft Magazine. The studio is featured in the documentary “The Sign Painter Movie” due for release in 2013, and its work has been exhibited in galleries such as Guerrero Gallery in San Francisco. Sean Starr serves as Editor of Traditional Sign Maker Magazine.

In September 2015 the studio was invited to Limerick, Ireland to work on a collaborative art project with the band The Cranberries for the Elemental Arts Festival. More info at: http://signpainterslimerick.com/
