The annual Outhouse Races in Coopersville are held on February 23. Teams of four or five create their own outhouses and race them down Main Street in Coopersville. The outhouses are man-powered with two people on each side pushing the outhouse on wheels.

Viewers can also enjoy the warmth of the small shops and vote for their favorite toilet seats (designed/decorated by locals). When the races end, everyone is invited to enjoy the warm food and friendly faces at the chili cook-off in the Coopersville Farm Museum, take a look around at the museum displays and enjoy the good eating while waiting for the announcement of winners from the races and toilet seat designs. Commemorative t-shirt or a picture in an outhouse are available to remember the event.
